The Carpinteria-Summerland Fire District, in partnership
with the community is committed to using all resources
available to provide comprehensive public education and
fire prevention programs for the protection of life and
property. This task cannot be accomplished without the
expertise of our Fire Prevention Division. We have a
full time Fire Prevention Officer I and part time Fire
Prevention Officer II. Their duties include the business
inspections, hazardous materials inspections, site plans
checking, site visits, issues various permits,
enhancement of public safety and reduction of property
loss through education, public awareness and enforcement
of codes and regulations. These Fire Prevention Officers
report directly to the Battalion Chief of Prevention.
Other responsibilities include, working with the City of
Carpinteria to create the City’s Multi-Hazard
Functional Plan, creation of the Districts Local Hazard
Mitigation Plan.
